Kadamba is a neighbourhood bar in Hyderabad's HITEC City that pays homage to the old-school local bars where everyone feels like a regular. Built around the warmth of familiar faces and effortless hospitality,
the brand celebrates a place where the bartender knows your order
and you can simply be yourself.
As part of the design team at LOCAL, I developed a series of playful brand icons inspired by the familiar characters and gestures that define neighbourhood bars. I also contributed to the bar's visual rollout through environmental graphics and spatial branding recommendations. Thoughtful local touches—such as Telugu phrases on beer sleeves and takeaway bags, helped ground the identity in Hyderabad's culture while giving the brand a distinct and memorable personality.

A neighbourhood bar
Shaped by the way people naturally gather under the shade of a Kadamba tree. Think of those old chaupals where the tree became the meeting point: some sat close, some kept
to the edges, but everyone shared the same circle of shade.

A VISUAL LIBRARY
MAST
Inspired by the local culture
of bars, where gestures often
speak louder than words.
We borrowed these familiar hand signs and social cues to create
a visual language that's intuitive,
playful, and unmistakably local.
